About Me

I Live in the Country

Hi.  I’m Terry, and I live in the country, but this blog isn’t about country living, you know canning and quilting, and all those things people assume you do because you live in the country. I don’t do those things. It’s not that I don’t do them; I just don’t do them. This blog is about living, and I just happen to live in the country, Northern Minnesota to be specific.

Because I live in the country, it’s a big part of daily life. I live here with my cats, horses, and husband. (Yes the order listed is important.) I write. I take photos. I work full time.

Here you will see many photos of life in the country, and particularly photos of Arlene’s Garden. You’ll just have to read the blog posts to find out about Arlene’s Garden. Just know that it’s a magical place, and so much inspiration comes from her garden.

So what else might I write about besides the country? Oh. Rock and Roll or Heavy Metal. Yeah. I’m not into Country Music at all.  I have a thing for 80’s hair bands and Led Zepplin.

Creating your own reality, Law of Attraction, the power of your mind, and all that woowoo stuff is very important to me, and I love talking about it.

The thing I probably talk about the most, though, is nutrition.  My friends and family get tired of me going on and on about it.  But I’ll put it here anyway, because it’s who I am.  I’ll just weave it in with everything else.

I love internet memes, cats, horses, dogs, animals, and nature.

I am a writer.

I make up my own words sometimes.  You might read a word and think to yourself “This chick is an idiot, doesn’t she know that’s not a word?”  Well maybe I do, and maybe I don’t.  I like to pride myself on writing, but I don’t know everything, and I make mistakes like everyone else.  Still, I often use words in weird ways.

I write fiction.

For fun, you may even see some writing snippets now and then.

Like this:  Amanda watched Joe now as he stoked the fire. She sipped her tea and wished they were at an inn where she could have gotten some ale, or maybe even a bit of wine. She wouldn’t turn down a good glass of wine tonight. Shadows played around the room. Light from the fire and torches highlighted reddish glints in Joe’s brown hair.

I also make nail polish, do printable quotes, and press t-shirts with dumb sayings on them.  Those are all available on Etsy.

And that’s who I am.  I know there are others out there like me.  Do you love nature and being in the country?  Do you love rock and roll, heavy metal, and 80’s hair bands?  Do you love and care about animals?  Are you concerned about the environment?  Do you work hard?  Nutrition.  Believe in the magic of the Universe?  Do you understand that your life is up to you, you are responsible?  Positive thinking?  Spiritual growth?  Romantic nonsense?  All around goofy shit?  Writing?  Compassion? Coffee? If you care about any or all of these things, then you will find relevance here.

Oh yeah, I can’t forget.  Sometimes I swear.  I will occasionally use inappropriate language.  It’s not excessive.  But if that bothers you, then you should not read anything here.
